Yesterday, our students got the chance to have a conversation with OSU President Ed Ray. President Ray reflected on stories from his journey to OSU and then the students shared what they were most excited about as they start their college careers.
In the afternoon, we went on a field trip to a poplar tree farm/research site in Jefferson where we had lunch, learned about the Advance Hardwood Biofuels Northwest project, and toured the site. Among other things, the students learned how researchers from OSU are using poplar trees to create bioenergy.
